## Introduction

Get the logs of a live algorithm. The snapshot updates about every 5 minutes.

## Description

This endpoint returns a range of lines and can filter them by keyword. To get the logs of all the live deployments in one request, call the [/live/export/logs](https://www.quantconnect.com/docs/v2/cloud-platform/api-reference/live-management/read-live-algorithm/export-logs.md) endpoint, which returns a text file.

## Request

Information about the algorithm to read live logs from. The `/live/logs/read` API accepts requests in the following format:

| `ReadLiveLogsRequest` Model - Request to read the logs of a specific algorithm. | |
| --- | --- |
| projectId | `integer required example: 23456789` Id of the project that contains the live running algorithm. |
| algorithmId | `string required example: L-6e9d8a78f5af89d401f630585be90e43` Deploy Id (Algorithm Id) of the live running algorithm. |
| startLine | `integer required` Start line (inclusive) of logs to read. The lines numbers start at 0. |
| endLine | `integer required` End line (exclusive) of logs to read, where endLine - startLine <= 250. |
| deploymentLogs | `boolean` Indicates if only the given deployment logs should be included in the response. |
| query | `string example: error` Case-insensitive keyword to filter the log lines. The startLine and endLine index the lines that contain the keyword. To read all the lines, omit it or set it to null or an empty string. |
| Example | `{ "projectId": 23456789, "algorithmId": "L-6e9d8a78f5af89d401f630585be90e43", "startLine": 0, "endLine": 0, "deploymentLogs": true, "query": "error" }` |

## Responses

The `/live/logs/read` API provides a response in the following format:

### 200 Success

| `ReadLiveLogsResponse` Model - Logs from a live algorithm. | |
| --- | --- |
| logs | `string Array` List of logs from the live algorithm. |
| length | `integer` Total amount of rows in the logs across all live deployments for this project that match the query. |
| deploymentOffset | `integer` Number of log rows before the given deployment (the `algorithmId` in the request). It counts all the rows, even if you provide a query. |
| success | `boolean` Indicate if the API request was successful. |
| errors | `string Array` List of errors with the API call. |
| Example | `{ "logs": [ "string" ], "length": 0, "deploymentOffset": 0, "success": true, "errors": [ "string" ] }` |

### 401 Authentication Error

| `UnauthorizedError` Model - Unauthorized response from the API. Key is missing, invalid, or timestamp is too old for hash. | |
| --- | --- |
| www_authenticate | `string` Header |
