Today we're launching a crowd-funding campaign to find 100 pioneers, passionate believers who love what we're doing and want to see it succeed. When we find the 100 we're committed to open-sourcing the core algorithmic trading engine of QuantConnect so you can code, backtest and trade locally from your PC!
We're really excited about this next evolution of the company. We've always been proud we're independent and tried to aligned our interests with you. This campaign reaffirms those beliefs and aligns our business model; we'll be funded and powered by you, our community and clients!
Open-sourcing enables so many cool features we've wanted to do; including local backtesting, and seamlessly deploying your algorithm to the cloud when you want to optimize a strategy. We're almost finished preparing the project for open sourcing. It runs locally and I'm tidying up comments and some old unused code. :) We are shipping it with a week data for 3 stocks so you can instantly run on PC.
