Hi,
Is there a way to debug a new python algorithm (strategy) in Visual Studio? If not, any other way to run the backtest and debug the python part?
Thanks

Since Lean engine is written in C# debugging python algorithms is "tricky" and far from perfect.
You need to add the following lines to your code:
import sys import time # Add this line before the debug breakpoint while not sys.gettrace(): time.sleep(0.01)
Compile Lean and run it from the command line.
The algorithm will be waiting for the debugging session due to the while loop.
In Visual Studio, select to Debug -> Attach Process. In the Attach To Process window, at "attach to" select "Python Code" and select QuantConnect.Lean.Launcher.exe in the "Available processes":
