Recognizing Community Excellence

Have you ever seen a Forum post that you found really insightful? One that makes you say, “I never thought of that!”? We definitely have, and with the QuantConnect community growing stronger than ever, we wanted to give members a way to recognize each other’s posts for the quality insights they provide. So we’re introducing the QuantConnect awards system, where members can send awards to other quants for outstanding posts or comments.

Get started by heading over to the community forum, and picking a post that really makes you reflect. In the subheading of the post, we’ve added a “give award” link. By clicking this button, you will be prompted to send an award to the original poster.

Each award has a cost and depending on the award grants the author account-credit (QCC)  they can use for infrastructure services, or to pay forward to others in the community. Every 100-QCC converts to $1-USD credit.

We have launched with five awards; Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Plutonium Medals. The highest award, the Medal for Excellence, is given by our staff members to quants for their exceptional contributions to the QuantConnect community along with 3000 QCC. This system was inspired by reddit and we hope to add some more fun awards over time. Awards you receive will appear under your Organization Credit on the Billing Tab. Here you can choose to let your QCC accrue or apply it to your monthly invoices.

We’re happy to be providing a way to recognize the incredible talent from the community. Let’s build an incredible community together, filled with insightful discussions and high caliber algorithms.
