I'm a newcoer to QuantConnect and have noticed that upon accessing the platform, I'm not greeted with a chart window for easy selection of trading instruments, like NASDAQ. Perhaps I'm not fully grasping this new approach to algorithmic trading?
My trading strategies heavily rely on price action, so having a candlestick chart window on one of my screens to monitor price movements in real-time as I develop my strategies is essential. Can QuantConnect accommodate this need? Thank you for your assistance.

QuantConnect's primary focus is on algorithmic trading, and while it does provide charting capabilities, it might not be as powerful as a dedicated charting solution. As per the forum discussion, it's mentioned that "Charting is more difficult in the browser, we're adding custom charting in August as well. But this will probably never be as powerful as a desktop solution like Multicharts."
However, QuantConnect does provide a way to plot data within your algorithm. You can use the
Plotmethod to create custom charts. Here's an example in Python:This will create a custom chart named "My Chart" and plot the
pricevariable on it. You can plot multiple series on the same chart, and they will be updated in real-time as your algorithm runs.If you're looking for a more interactive charting solution, you might need to use a separate tool alongside QuantConnect. You can develop your strategies in QuantConnect, and use another platform for real-time charting.
