Hi all,
I want to ask a very quick question here: I see there is a post saying live trading is free for students (https://www.quantconnect.com/blog/quantconnect-live-trading-now-free-for-students/), however, when I hit the 'Go Live' button, it still asks me to upgrade my account and forward me to a page to choose a plan and pay for it.
Do I miss anything? Or there's actually no free trial for students? Thanks!

Hi Yuying,
We're trying to find a way to make the free student credit more sustainable since we've had a surge in applications in the last 4 weeks making its previous form no longer economically sustainable. At the moment we're asking universities to cover costs, exploring providing a discount token to students, and trying to find hedge funds to sponsor it. We're also exploring ways to make a lower cost live trading hosted outside of our colocation.
You can help by:
- Asking your professors to sponsor the program for their classrooms.
- Contributing to the open-source and writing tutorials for how to write algorithms.
- Helping others in the community will lower our overall support costs. We'll give badges/credit to all helpful community replies.
Please be patient with us as we try and find these answers, we hope to see you in the community.
