Is using a single cryptocurrency for benchmarking a good idea though?
S&P has created a few different crypto indexes:

In QuantConnect, is it possible to benchmark against indexes rather than ETFs?
Benchmarking strategies against a crypto index, rather than just BTCUSD, would be nice.

Hi Jacek,
It's possible to set the benchmark to an Index, but the US Cash Indices dataset only includes VIX, SPX, and NDX. If you download the data for the Crypto index you want, you can set the benchmark to the custom data. For an example, see Set Benchmark.
