Using in house

I work for a trading company. We have our own in house trading software with its own unique APIs. As I understand, if I want to run qc on my own servers and connect to our inhouse APIs I also have to get my own data provider. Only way to use your data provider is if I run qc on your servers. Is this correct?

If so, what data providers do you recommend? Are there adaptors already implemented for them?

What minimum specs do you recommend for the server?

And any problems you think I might face.

Thanks in advance

Welcome Bkarj;

Correct our cloud data sources can only be accessed from within QuantConnect; but if you have your own data sources you can use them locally. We provide FX and CFD data for free for download through the data library.

We provide a number of converters and data streams inside the ToolBox in the open source project LEAN. If you have a popular data vendor we don't support let us know and we'll work on adding it to the ToolBox.

The LEAN can process the full market tick data run on as little as 512MB of RAM and 1 Core CPU. What precise specifications you need depend on your algorithm.

We're also looking at offering a live streaming data service. If this is of interest please contact us at commercial@quantconnect.com and we can discuss further.
