Code Library Usage Examples

For a given block of code in the code library (ex: ADX), is there any way to see which public algos use it? Being able to clone them and analyze it's implementation would be useful for us noobies.

Hey Kevin, sorry please bear with me on these - as part of the open-sourcing we're shuffling the code base around and these will all be built into the base class in a couple of weeks. Once they're built in the indicators will be much much easier to use (e.g. no updating data required).

We're aiming to have an indicator library suite that are all beautifully designed, using fast inline algorithms and automatically update as data enters the algorithm. We're probably going to kill the code snippet library or replace it with a list of 100 example algorithms instead - the ADX indicator would be one of them.

Jared,

It sounds good, I can't wait to see the new version. The "no updating data" part scares me a little, because I am using indicators on different timescales and like being able to update their data when needed.

:) No problem we'll have a manual override as well. Regarding the other thread - you're right it looks like its not rolling the ADX updates. We'll have to tweak how the code behind it works...

To summarize the indicators I've used so far:

Code I can get to work and values match charting software:

Simple Moving Average (SMA)

Code I can get to "work" but values don't match charting software:

TimeSpan Consolidator
Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
Relative Strength Index (RSI)

Code I can't get to work:

Average Directional Index (ADX)

Feel free to fix them if you think they're broken ;) All those code snippets are community contributed, and not part of the underlying QC engine.
