In my opinion Lean should be written using the PEP8 python convention, as every python programmer uses that. As a programmer in python the current convention is quite annoying and misleading. Is there anything planned to convert the code in PEP8?

Nothing planned. We looked into this a couple of years ago and the python community voted to keep the current API to avoid the duplication/complication of having it in two forms.
