Loading a JAR file

Wondering if there's any possibility to load a jar file dependency in a Java project.

Best would be in the online backtester, but if someone can detail the steps on how to make that run in LEAN, I'll take that too!

Hey @Sebastien! Currently its not possible in QuantConnect.com -- we could probably find a way in the LEAN project. If you can please repost this question here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lean-engine so its helpful to the open source community.

If there are popular Jars we can add as dependencies please let me know.

ta-lib is an indicator library in c, c++, java so it's dll and jar. It would be great if we could use this.

Hey Adrian! Rather than making a shallow wrapper on TA Lib we decided to write a deep integration of indicators so we could make the most of the C# language and deeply integrate it with LEAN. It took a little longer but we're building up an indicator library of our own. I'd recommend you check it out.

Using our own indicators means its automatically compatible with our charting and automatically updates with data. It also means you can connect indicators together (chaining them) -- SMA of the RSI.
