I need some help understanding MAE and MFE in forex.

The MAE docs says: The Maximum Adverse Excursion (as symbol currency)

E.g. a MAE from a trade of GBPUSD is -0.34.

How I interpret that number? Given the GBPUSD currency is USD, that means that the trade MAE was USD -0.34?

And what if the MAE is from a USDJPY trade and is equal to -0.29? that means the trade MAE was JPY -0.29?

Thanks in advance!
