Hi
How can I add a new asset to my local lean installation? I am trying to add a new asset(shares at NSE) to my local lean installation using IB downloader. It didn't work out. I tried going through the code from which it seems that it supports fx pairs.
- -What is the significance of
- symbol-properties-database.csv in the data folder
- map_files
- How a single symbol in lean maps changes in the ticker in historical data over time, and different tickers used by different brokers? Where is this data stored?
- Is there an API call to add entries to CSV or is it done manually?

Hi Amol,
The symbol-properties-database stores a list of all of the securities available for trading. Map files store the ticker changes for securities. Instead of using the IB downloader to add the new asset, we suggest trying to use the ZerodhaDownloader. This downloader was developed by a person who added support to the Indian market in Lean.

Also; this is not officially supported by LEAN yet. Full international (+India) support is in progress thanks to a new team member Ronit but we've still got 2-3 months to go.
