Hey guys,
I got a simple question for you all. No code needed, just was hoping for a brief explanation of when you must use another class to execute your code properly. I am seeing a lot of coders use them but I cannot understand why it is necessary.
Anyone have an answer for me?
Derek Melchin
Hi Jesse,
If you are referring to the QCAlgorithm class, see Your Algorithm and LEAN. If you are referring to a different class, please elaborate or provide an example. Sometimes its good practice to create a custom class in an algorithm to abstract some functionality, keeping the code organized and modular. For example, the SymbolData class is a common design pattern if we want to track stop loss levels or add indicators for each asset in a universe.
Best,
Derek Melchin
