Email Support for Upgrading

Hi, 

I'm hitting a number of problems writing my algorithm which is based on the new fundamental feature.  I was wondering if I upgrade my account whether I will get Email Support to help me work through it.

The filtering that I want is only available with "fine" filtering...  (EPS data).  So I need the coarse universe filter NOT to reduce the universe so that the fine filter can appropriately grab the data.  But when coarse returns the full ~4000 equity it runs out of memory.  

My Backtest keeps running out of memory.  "Memory Usage Maxed Out - 1024MB max."

I'd like to get a little help using these features and was curious whether "Email support" as part of upgrading qualifies.

Hey Brian. Absolutely that would come under email support. Our new support system is so we can help people with algorithm issues that they don't want to share to the forum. If you send a support request a QC support member will be added to your project and they can give you guidance on how to use fine fundamental data.

We've been doing this for free for the last few years but as the community grows past 25,000 quants its getting harder and harder to maintain!

Hi Jared, What is the typical response time for email support? Do you have a target SLA?

Hi Brian,

I got your algorithm, but did not receive a "ticket" in out support system.
The backtest reach max memory because you were trying to load too much data into the 1GB of RAM. After you upgrade, you get 4GB. Please try it now.
If you continue to receive the "Memory Usage Maxed Out" message, it means that 4GB is not enough and you will have to load smaller subsets of coarse until it passes.

Hi Alexandre, I still get the out of memory error. When I type in the "support" field, how do I know that you are receiving my questions/tickets. I don't get any email confirmation of my questions or anything.

Hi Brian, currently there is no formal SLA but we do the best humanly possible. When you submit a request through the terminal you get a pop up confirmation on submission. Click the round support icon in the algorithm lab and submit your question there.

Thanks Jared.  I did submit my questions there.  I just haven't heard anything in a few days and Alexandre said he didn't receive a ticket for my last submission.  Just want to make sure you got it.  

I figured you guys were responding based on best effort.  I just wasn't sure if best effort was a few days or a couple of weeks.  

You are so responsive on the community, i thought email would be even faster.  Thanks!

Hi,

We are a couple of guys that want to create an account but all of the confirmation mails that are needed to set one up somehow get lost on the way. Is this an known issue?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did resend the confimation and it worked like a charm. Now lets start putting up that HF strategy.
