Even more chart customisation

Back

Hi, I'm running LEAN local and enjoying the charting.

But I'm greedy and want more control of the look and feel.

I'd like to;

  • Use dashed lines for some series (say the middle line in Keltner channels)
  • Vertically offset position of scatterMarkerSymbols so they indicate the day, rather than the day and price.
  • Control thickness of lines
I'm a capable developer so not concerned about complexity (C# or HTML5 tricks are OK). IF the chart engine can't do this, could I use a different/third party chart engine/API - has anyone tried this? Say injecting quantconnect backtesting orders, etc  into TradingView Charting Library API?

Hi everyone, I would also like to know if there is any way to combine backtesting with TradingView's charting API when running LEAN locally.. That would be cool.

Hi EduardV,

Yes, this is possible. For a simple example, we can follow this workflow after installing Lightweight Charts:

  1. Calculate the equity over time (see example calculation or get from the bin/Debug directory)
  2. At the end of the backtest, log the equity over time data
  3. Load the equity over time data into a javascript file by following the examples given by TradingView
  4. Open the javascript file in a browser

Best,
Derek Melchin
