Notify.SMS problem

Hello.

I am a python user

I have tried a few times to utilize the Notify.SMS() command within my OnData portion of the code to send alerts to my phone, to let me know when I enter a trade.  When the program has gotten to that line of code, it causes an error in my program.

the command I have: self.Notify.Sms("+1 123-456-7890", "Bought E-mini")

I have done the phone number as all 1 string (no dashes or spaces), but that didn't work.

Thank you for any help or insight you have.

Are you using it in live mode, as I understand it does not work in demo mode.

I prefer using Email more than SMS as it is more reliable and it is free of cost for everyone (including Quantconnect)

The errors were in the live scenario.  I was testing it on a live practice account at OANDA.  Different strategy, but same placement and code utalized.  I also tried the email notification instead, but this didn't work either.  I'd prefer SMS, but would be happy if email worked as well.

Hi Michael; both work well as we pay a heavy toll for the community SMS messages =D. Thank you Ray for using email! To use Futures trading you currently need to use Interactive Brokers data feed so it will not work with Futures+OANDA. We're adding futures live feed soon so it actually will be possible within 1-2 months!

Generally to speed up your debugging try to assume its an issue with the algorithm, not the platform, after 100,000 users it is pretty reliable at this point.

After reviewing my code I found the issue.  I didn't incluede the dashes within the number.

Thank you
