Hi Manson,Â
I was recently faced with the same issue.Â
In my case, I wanted to change a file name and forgot the file extension by mistake. Afterwards I was not able to add the file extension to fix the error. The error message "file extension not valid" always came up. Also to continue with coding or to create new builds of my project was then no longer possible.Â
The good news: I found a simple workaround with Skylight. Follow the steps below and it should work again then.Â
- sync your projects via skylight
- close the respective project in the algo labÂ
- open the folder on your local machine and rename the file with the missing/wrong file extension. (There will be probably two versions, the broken one and last one with the correct file extension. Therefore it's better to use a new filename, just to be sure nothing will be overwritten.)
- sync again
- open your project in the web ide. Everything should work fine then.Â
I hope this helped. Otherwise, feel free to contact us again. Â

@Derek: Could you check that, please? I think it's a bug and not supposed to be like this. Thanks. Â
