We're planning a major code upgrade tomorrow after the US Equity market close. We think there will up to 30-45 minutes of downtime, rolling through compiler services, backtesting services, then live trading deployment services. Coding and existing live algorithms will not be impacted.
All going well we're shooting for a 30%+ speed upgrade from migration to dotnet core!!

When I try to Paper Trade, I now get this error : Â
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. The system cannot find the file specified. (Open Stacktrace)

What does it mean by upgrading to dotenet core? What was the engine run on so far?? Can you explain? THANKYOU.

It is the underlying interpreter for the code which takes the IL code and executes it. Previously it was an open-source platform called Mono; now Microsoft's more modern open-source .NET5 / dotnet core. The MS team worked on making it faster so we get the benefit of those speed ups here =)Â
