Problems running LEAN desktop on macOS by Kamil Kocemba

Hello all!

First of all I am new to QC and wanted to give desktop LEAN SDK a go. I am running the latest version from Github, latest version of Visual Studio Community Edition on macOS Sierra.

I encountered few relatively easy to workaround issues (relative paths don't work in config, have to build for 32 bits) but can't seem to be able to get QuantConnect.Views to run. No matter what I try it can't find xul throwing: System.DllNotFoundException: xul. I double checked and GeckoFX is installed from nuget and xul.dll is in project directory. I am trying to get C# algorithm to work but eventually would like to get python one up and running.

Any ideas? I looked on the Internet but the only thing I've found is that "probably nobody has managed to get GeckoFX to run on mac".

same problem for me, so I gave up trying it, and instead I created from own HTML and csv reports

This function has been deprecated; rather than invest in fixing a bad design we've redesigned it to be completely cross platform and will be shipping a brand new desktop option.

This is spelled out in the Github Projects list. If you're passionate about desktop charting please pick up one of the project issues and we can kick off the new desktop!
