Managing individual trades on Oanda...?

Hello,

With Oanda, one can manage individual trades. So, I can enter the same instrument (say EUR / USD) at 3 different pricepoints and treat each of these as a separate incident - place a stop loss on trade 1, liquidate trade 2, and hold trade 3, for example. I can target the specific trade rather than the instrument as a whole.

How can I set that up on Quantconnect?

Thanks!

Hey Shiri,

You can keep track of individual orders sent with their OrderTickets. The OrderTicket contains information about the trade and also allows you to update that trade given that it hasn't already been filled. Using the information in the OrderTickets, you can also set up complimentary exit trades like stop losses and liquidations.

I encourage you to work through the bootcamps. They're the best way to get familiar with QC. This bootcamp covers creating trailing stop losses using order tickets.

Also, here's a thread that discusses something similar.

i thank you so much for this response! but i don't think this is what i'm looking for... what i mean is - let's say i have 3 open trades on the same instrument. all 3 are active, the entry order for each trade has been filled, each at a different time, each at a different price point, and i am now invested in all 3. how can i pick out just one of those 3 trades, and place a stop-loss on it (or profit target, or just get info on it), while leaving the other 2 alone? This is possible on Oanda, even if all 3 trades are in the same account, same instrument, same direction. thank you for your help, it is much appreciated :D

Hey Shiri,

That functionality is not possible at the moment. The portfolio modeled in Lean keeps only one combined average position for each symbol.
