Ideas Assistant
Introduction
The Ideas Assistant is the specialist that keeps your Research Pipeline from ever running dry. Where every other assistant on the team takes an idea and moves it forward, this one is responsible for sourcing the ideas in the first place — reading the market, finding angles worth testing, and writing them down in a form a researcher can actually pick up and start working.
How It Works
When called on, the Ideas Assistant reads recent financial news articles and trading blog posts looking for insights that could be turned into a strategy. It is opinionated about what counts as a real idea — specific, actionable, and concrete enough to be tested and refined — and it deliberately avoids the vague hunches and broad themes that sound interesting in conversation but fall apart the moment anyone tries to code them. Before writing anything new to your Research Pipeline, it checks the cards already there so it never posts a duplicate of an idea your team is already considering.
What It Does
For each idea, the assistant writes out the underlying logic in plain terms, names the asset classes the strategy would trade, and calls out the specific indicators or datasets it would rely on. The output is shaped like a brief for a quant researcher — enough detail to start working immediately, without the padding that makes long strategy descriptions hard to act on. It caps itself at the three strongest ideas per run rather than flooding your pipeline with weaker candidates, on the principle that a focused pipeline is more valuable than a full one.
When given an existing card to expand, the assistant updates that card in place rather than creating a new one, so the history of an idea stays attached to the idea itself. Each finished card lands in the Ideas column of your Research Pipeline, ready for the Research Assistant to pick up next.
What You Get Back
A small set of well-formed, market-grounded strategy ideas sitting at the top of your Research Pipeline, written the way a researcher would want to receive them. The Ideas Assistant is the front door of the workflow — the agent that makes sure the rest of the team always has something worth working on, sourced from what is actually happening in the markets right now rather than from yesterday’s assumptions.
